VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Third Thursday of each month, a team goes to Immokalee to help in a
soup kitchen. The coordinator is Joyce Parkes—(347) 247-4976.
Sponsors for Middle schoolers for confirmation.
Extra adults are needed to be with the kids ministry leaders on Sundays.
Each volunteer only serves once a month if we have enough interested.
Pastoral Care team checks in with our members, especially those in the
hospital, at a rehab, or homebound.

DON’T DRIVE ON THE GRASS
$2,500 has been spent to fix control valves and sprinkler heads. Please use
the roadway into the sanctuary parking lot and then park on the grass around
the circle driveway. DO NOT drive across the lawn from Homestead Road
or the Fellowship Hall parking lot.
ERT CERTIFICATION at Carlson UMC in Labelle on January 29
ERTs help with specific needs in the early days after a disaster. This training
is provided by an UMCOR certified trainer. Participants learn the basics of
disaster response, including how to stabilize and secure homes safely, and
how to work effectively with survivors and others on the response team For

2022 LOCAL CHURCH LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Committee members of Finance, SPRC and Trustees need to attend one of the
3 training sessions for your committee. The training sessions scheduled for 2
pm may be done at the church using the church’s media center in the library.
You can also attend the trainings in the evening or on a Saturday designated
for your committee but you must register yourself at bit.ly/local-church-
training to receive the link.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

WELCOME
To the service today. Our first time guests should have received a gift as
you came in. If you did not, please stop by the Welcome Center before
you leave. Those online who provide their contact information, will also
receive a gift.
FIFTH SUNDAY CHILDREN’S HOME OFFERING
We will be collecting a special offering January 30th for the Florida UM
Children’s Home. The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home is now
a diverse ministry that includes residential care, therapeutic group care,
foster care, emergency shelter care, independent living assistance, and a
community child care center. Special envelopes will be available next
Sunday. Checks should be made out the church “CUMC” and note it is
for the children’s home.
BAPTISM CLASS
Parents interested in having their child baptized will meet at 4 pm on
Wednesday, January 26th. Come to the office area to be directed to the
where they will meet.
PRAYER WARRIORS
Will meet Monday, January 31st at 4 pm in the chapel.
ALTAR FLOWERS
There are openings for flowers on the altar. The cost is $17.50 per vase.
The book to reserve a date is on the welcome center table. Dates
available: Feb. 20 & 27; March 6 & 13; April 3 & 24; May 1 and more.
LITURGISTS FOR 2022
We need a liturgist for February.
If you would like to serve as a liturgist for a month, please contact the
church office letting us know when you would like to serve.
The liturgist assists the pastor in leading the worship service. The
information and order of worship are provided.
EXTRA GIVING ENVELOPES
If you give monthly and do not use the extra weekly envelopes, the
church office could use your extra giving envelopes. Hand them to Keith
Hepler, Finance Secretary but DO NOT put them in the offering basket.
You can also drop them off at the church office.
