VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

If any of these opportunities interest you, note it on the back of the

attendance card.

Third Thursday of each month, a team goes to Immokalee to help in a

soup kitchen. The coordinator is Joyce Parkes—(347) 247-4976.

Sponsors for Middle schoolers going through confirmation.

Extra adults are needed to be with the kids ministry leaders on Sundays.

Each volunteer only serves once a month if we have enough interested.

Pastoral Care team checks in with our members, especially those in the

hospital, at a rehab, or homebound through phone calls, visits or cards.

The liturgist assists the pastor in leading the worship service. The

information and order of worship are provided.

2022 LOCAL CHURCH LEADERSHIP TRAINING

Committee members of Finance, SPRC and Trustees need to attend one of the

3 training sessions for your committee. The training sessions scheduled for 2

pm may be done at the church using the church’s media center in the

conference room. You can also attend the trainings in the evening or on a

Saturday designated for your committee but you must register yourself at

bit.ly/local-church-training to receive the link.

CHANGES TO OUR NEXT RUMMAGE SALE

Since clothing is the most popular item we sell, we are going to try only

selling clothing and shoes. Our next rummage sale will be April 1 and 2 from

9 am to 2 pm. We will sell the paper bags for $20 each and the plastic store

bags for $10 each and people can fill them up.

We cannot take any clothing or shoes until the first day of set up on March

28th. Set up hours will be 9 to 4 Monday to Thursday.

We also need a group to come up with food to sell from the kitchen which is

another major source of income.

Karen & Kevin Coulter are the coordinators for the rummage sale.

FIFTH SUNDAY CHILDREN’S HOME OFFERING

We are collecting a special offering today for the Florida UM Children’s

Home. The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home is now a diverse

ministry that includes residential care, therapeutic group care, foster care,

emergency shelter care, independent living assistance, and a community

child care center. Special envelopes are available from the ushers. Checks

should be made out the church “CUMC” and note it is for the children’s

home.

PRAYER WARRIORS

Will meet Monday, January 31st at 4 pm in the chapel.

UMW LEADERSHIP MEETING

February 7th at 3 pm, the UMW Leadership will meet in Conference

Room 2. Bring a non-perishable food item for the church’s food pantry.

ONE STARRY NIGHT REVIEW MEETING

Saturday, February 12th at 10 am in the Fellowship Hall. We review the

December event and plan for this year’s outdoor live nativity. Everyone is

welcome to learn about this outreach to our community that we have been

doing for 10 years.

ALTAR FLOWERS

There are openings for flowers on the altar. The cost is $17.50 per vase.

The book to reserve a date is on the welcome center table. Dates

available: Feb. 20 & 27; March 6 & 13; April 3; May 1 and more.
