VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

If any of these opportunities interest you, note it on the back of the

attendance card.

Third Thursday of each month, a team goes to Immokalee to help in a

soup kitchen. The coordinator is Joyce Parkes—(347) 247-4976.

Sponsors for Middle schoolers going through confirmation.

Extra adults are needed to be with the kids ministry leaders on Sundays.

Each volunteer only serves once a month if we have enough interested.

Volunteers are needed for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays.

Pastoral Care team checks in with our members, especially those in the

hospital, at a rehab, or homebound through phone calls, visits or cards.

FAMILY FUN FRIDAY

February 18th from 7 to 8:30 pm is our next family night. Kindness is the

fruit of the spirit we will learn using karaoke, snacks and making hygiene

kits.

We need donations of toothbrush, comb, socks and travel size soap,

toothpaste, hand sanitizer, and deodorant to put in these kits. We need these

items by February 17th.

WORSHIP SERVICE FEBRUARY 20

UMW will be leading the worship service of Prayer & Self Denial. The

theme is “Love, Justice and Answering the Call.” The guest speaker will be

Deaconess Dr. Judith Pierre Okerson, President of the Florida Conference of

the United Methodist Women.

PRAYING PELICAN MISSION TEAM COMING

February 26 to March 4 we will have a team of 30 high school students

from Tucson, Arizona. They will be joining us for church on February 27th

which is also going to be Boy Scout Sunday.

March 1st we are planning a fun day of activities. In the morning parents

and young children will have a time of activities, in the afternoon senior

bingo and refreshments and at 6 pm Taco Tuesday for families with children

to have a meal and fellowship with the mission team plus give us ideas for

Family Fun Fridays.

Along with Trustee projects around the church, we would like to know if

you could use some extra hands to do some gardening, help clean out the

garage or a room, or some other project around your house that these teens

could do, with supervision. Write it on the attached attendance card on the

back and leave the card in the offering basket or call the church office.

FOURTH SUNDAYS ARE FOOD PANTRY SUNDAY

On the fourth Sunday of each month, we encourage donations of non-

perishable food which will go to our food pantry. The food pantry is open

Thursdays from 10 am to 1 pm. Volunteers are needed to help sort the food

we receive. Daphne Forrester is the coordinator.

ALTAR FLOWERS

There are openings for flowers on the altar. The cost is $17.50 per vase. The

book to reserve a date is on the welcome center table.

CHECK DOORS BEFORE YOU LEAVE

Check door handles to make sure doors are locked and latched before you

leave. We are finding too many doors open because they have not latched

shut due to this weather.

by Janice Martin Humble in honor of her father, Edwin Martin’s 107th

birthday.

COFFEE WITH THE PASTOR

Meet the pastor in the sanctuary lobby after the service to join her for

beverages and refreshments. This is a good time to learn about our

church.

SPAGHETTI DINNER TICKETS ON SALE TODAY

Spaghetti Dinner Drive Thru Fundraiser on Saturday, February 26

from

5:30 to 7:30 pm. The meal consists of spaghetti noodles with meat sauce,

salad, roll and dessert. An adult ticket is $10 and a child is $5. Tickets

can be purchased from Paul Billiard and others in the church or in the

church office Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 4 pm. Tickets can also

funds=44935 The take out dinners can be picked up between 5:30 and

7:30 pm at the Fellowship Hall.

Monetary donations will also be accepted but don’t buy a ticket. Just note

on your check/envelope that it is a donation for the spaghetti dinner.

2022 LOCAL CHURCH LEADERSHIP TRAINING

Committee members of Finance, SPRC and Trustees need to attend one of

the 3 training sessions for your committee. The training sessions

scheduled for 2 pm may be done at the church using the church’s media

center in the conference room. You can also attend the trainings in the

evening or on a Saturday designated for your committee but you must
