May 2023
Stephanie Schuteker, Director www.sttimothygc.org
I can’t believe we are so quickly approaching the end of our 2022-
2023 school year! It has been a full and fantastic year.
While I am sure to enjoy the leisure of the summer months, I will
look forward to seeing the smiling faces of those of you returning
to us next year. For those moving on, I pray you know joy and
success in all your future endeavors.
May is also a very busy month. Please be sure to keep up with all
the upcoming important dates and times. We will recognize our
final star students, enjoy end-of-year promotions, and end with
parent/teacher conferences and our Kindergarten Graduation!
I look forward to our remaining time together! Thank you and
your families for making 2022-2023 a memorable one!

Miss Anne and I can’t believe how quickly the year has gone by.
Here we are already in the last month of school. We have en-
joyed helping you shape your child to be a Christ-like, respectful
and helpful human being.
To end the year, we will spend time
talking about and practicing three
areas of safety playground, home,
and water safety. I will be evaluat-
ing each child individually during
the month and will meet with each
family separately to discuss where
your child is educationally and
socially. There will be a fun program and celebration at the end
of the month to culminate the school year.
We will review all colors this month. All the shapes will be re-
viewed as well.
Bible verse: Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them.

May is here, the end of the school year is near and we have a
busy month ahead! Our unit of study is Summer Safety where
we will learn how to be safe during a variety of summer
activities. We will practice for our end-of-year celebration and
each child will be individually evaluated for our parent/teacher
conferences at the end of the month. Sign-
up sheets for conference times will be
available soon.
This month we’ll review all of the colors,
shapes, letters, and numbers that we have
worked so hard to learn this year. We will
continue to build our skills in patterning,
sorting, counting, and comparing. We will
continue to encourage the use of proper
grip of writing utensils as we continue to
work on tracing our names.

Hello May! Can you believe we are already in our last month of
school?! We have learned, grown, and explored so much this year,
but we aren’t finished yet! We will finish unit 4 in our phonics curric-
ulum this month. This unit is all about long and short vowels. We are
focusing on CVCe words (consonant-vowel-consonant with “e” on
the end) and how the “e” at the end of the word changes the sound
the vowel makes. We will continue building reading fluency and
comprehension through decodable books that our students can read
themselves.
In math this month we will learn to tell time as well as continue to
build addition and subtraction fluency.
Our Science unit for May is all about Force and Motion. We will
explore how things move, pushes and pulls, direction, gravity, simple
machines, and magnets. This is a fun hands on unit that makes for an
exciting end to our year!
In addition to all of our learning we will be “ending the year with a
BANG!” to celebrate the hard work we’ve done and the accomplish-
ments we've made this year. Every day in May we will pop a balloon
that has a fun activity for us to participate in. We are also working
on some special graduation surprises to share with our families.
Bible Verse: The Lord’s Prayer from Matthew 6:9-13 - Our Father
who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy
will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily
bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass
against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and
ever. Amen
